Forgot what day I was on. Had to check the archives already.
Not sure why I've been so tired lately. This day could've been because I went to the buffet for lunch, skipped breakfast, or the fact that it was crazy hot. I took a nap until 7 but I was still out of sorts. I was trying to get myself ready to start Shoulders and Arms, but then I got a call from my dad asking for help getting a rental car for his upcoming trip. He said he'd look on his own and get back to me, so I was hesitant to get started. I didn't wanna wait around too long since it was getting late. I even contemplated skipping, but I got to it anyway a little before 8.
Shoulders and arms features a pretty solid crew of "the kids." We're introduced to Daniel Haas, Joe Bovino, and the "glorious" Dreya Weber.
Daniel Haas is the beginner here showing everyone the use of the bands. Just like Scotty Fifer, I was paying attention to his moves the most during the first go-around. He seems like a pretty ok guy, fairly obedient to Tony's instruction and he definitely looks like he works hard. Not too cocky either. I find it pretty funny that he's always ready to go even though it's "break time." Tony mentions that he was an aspiring actor. I wonder if he had to resort to doing porn like Maren.
Joe Bovino is the strongman in the back. He does the difficult versions of the exercises and is one third of the Tony Horton triplets. Tony mentions that he's a lawyer. Not sure why lawyers are drawn to do p90x, but I can't blame them for doing it either. I'm pretty impartial to Joe Bovino. He does look like a hard worker, but he doesn't joke around as much or annoy me like some other of the kids.
And then we get to Dreya Weber. This is the first of many times you'll meet her. Tony goes on and on about how wonderful she is and gorgeous her form is. I wouldn't mind all that so much because that's normal Tony banter. However, Dreya seems to bask in it. There's a few times in the video where I see Tony ask a question and she's waiting to be addressed just to answer his question with a clever answer. No doubt she's a hard worker because of her physique though and Tony and BeachBody probably owe her a lot of gratitude. She was one of the people that helped Tony come up with the routines and she was the model for the recovery drink commercial at the end of the videos. They even have her in a bunch of the promo pictures for the videos. But still, be humble about it at least.
I had trouble concentrating on this one this week. For some reason the pace seemed a little fast and I found myself trying to keep up on some reps. My dad called me around the halfway point so I had a small break of momentum. A thought did occur to me though: how come they don't want you to take a water break in this video? The break portion is labeled as "ballistic stretch." I mean I still drink water here and there and ballistic stretch when they tell me, but why not use the term we're used to?
Oh well. That's all I got for now. Stay powerful everybody. (and amazing)
